Post-Colossal Revue

Michael MacWolff

Hey folks! Colossalcon was a whirlwind as always, and unfortunately with as busy as my life tends to be of course I had to leave early which meant I didn't get to spend as much time with my wonderful con friends as I would have liked, but such is life.

Still, I got to meet some awesome new people who I will hopefully be able to cosplay with in the future! The bulk of my photos are up on my facebook page and it seems silly to double-post too many things, but I did want to show off the stuff of note!

Thursday I got in and immediately stumbled upon the Pokemon photoshoot and managed to find the only existing photo of my Ramos cosplay with all of its proper pieces, courtesy of Shadow Wolf Creative Photography (besides my little Gogoat who sadly broke as soon as I got out of the car on Thursday).

Friday was fun, I started out in Aang, making it to the Avatar/Korra shoot, though I don't have much in the way of photos since I was in most of them and being lazy about taking them when I wasn't. Then in the afternoon I transitioned to Edgeworth, but not before getting horribly sunburned >_<
Again, I managed to stumble across a shoot completely by accident so here's some Ace Attorneys! Again, there aren't a ton of photos since I was in about half of them.

For Saturday, I geared up in Aang again and had my cousin/husband team with me! It was lots of fun having a big group and we got lots of photos taken of us.

we're hoping to get the crew together again some time soon since we didn't get to spend too much time hanging out on Saturday.

Now I thankfully get a bit of a reprieve as I don't have too many orders that need to be filled immediately, though I do have an event this weekend in Strongsville, so anyone local should come visit!

Random WIPs

Michael MacWolff

Hey guys, a few WIPs to show off and that's about it.

Sokka's weapons are done! And with that I'm pretty much done with the AtlA costumes.

And the Fat Man is almost done! And has a mini-nuke! Except it's not fully painted yet, but thank god for it almost being Easter cause it's made from a giant styrofoam egg.

And last up is a new cosplay I'm working on for Tekko next month! Here's the first bit. You can win 50 Mikey Points if you can guess what it is/what it's for! And you might want to start collecting points; they might be useful later :-)

Pre/Post Con Frenzy

Michael MacWolff

Hey guys, apologies for my absence last week, I was in a frenzy last week trying to get all of my junk together for ConCoction since I had a vendor table there and actually did really well! It was a flurry of ties, life counters, and gears to restock after the clearout of my inventory around Christmas, and I haven't had time to build it back up again. If you are interested, I have all of the leftover inventory up on my etsy store, including a bunch of new tie designs and the arrival of the [NEW AND IMPROVED] Bow TIE fighters! And they look a lot more like real bow ties now! They're available in traditional TIE, First Order TIE, TIE Interceptor, and TIE Advanced, so GO BUY ONE! ==> BUY IT HERE

So now that we're post-con and I have a moment to breath (haha, yeah right), I've put my nose back to the grindstone of propmaking and at the moment, also lots of costume-making! Suki and Sokka are well underway and thankfully are almost done minus a few seams and some bias tape, and some coats of paint, and shin guards, and... ok maybe I lied and there's a lot left to do, but they're coming along nicely! Check them out:

It's still missing the side flaps in this photo, but it actually looks like a Kyoshi warrior, HUZZAH!

These used to be black fans, and now they're pretty gold ones! I never want to have to do that again because for as simple as it looks, they're a pain in the ass.

I am presently (and by that I mean it's literally sitting on the futon behind me) stitching Sokka's tunic together, there's bias tape in the arm holes that needs stitched in which I'd have gladly modeled for you all but it has a bunch of pins in it and I'm not in need of acupuncture at the moment.

The other fun project I managed to complete in the last couple of weeks was Isabella's necklace from Dragon Age. It probably looks familiar since I've made one before. Now I can make it even better cause I know how to work with worbla!

Funky understructure held together with masking tape. Yes, people, I am a professional.

See! Add some worbla and it looks much better!

Paint, medallions, and a fake gem! BOOM! We're done!

That's all folks! Join us next week for (maybe?) some finished Avatar: the Last Airbender warriors!
